The 2024 Whyte E-180 Works Full Suspension Electric Mountain Bike has been built around the first ever competition e-enduro engine, the Performance Line CX Race Limited Edition motor from Bosch. To keep with the race spec it has a zero compromise, maximum performance build. It has been designed, developed and tested by the fastest riders on the fiercest courses.
The E-180 Works' frame maximises the advantage of Whyte's unique tilted motor and super low-slung battery arrangement which brings the bike’s centre of gravity as low as possible to deliver you ultra-stable, dynamically centred and confident handling on any terrain. The ‘in-tube’ battery design also creates a stronger, sleeker, smarter frame that exceeds the highest safety levels by nearly 250% in some areas; vital when racing events that are longer, harder and more brutal than any other in mountain biking.
The Works build is equipped with SRAM’s all-new wireless XX Eagle AXS T-Type transmission for flawless shifting performance. RockShox Zeb Ultimate fork and custom tuned Super Deluxe Ultimate shock turn every mm of the travel into extra speed and traction to deliver riders the perfect balance of support, grip, confidence, and control right from the first ride; DT Swiss wheels and Maxxis tyres; SRAM Code RSC four-piston brakes with 220mm rotors for the power to control race-speeds; RaceFace and Crankbrothers finishing kit, and much more.

Electric Bike Motors Explained
Electric bikes have really come into their own in the last couple of years. Thanks to advances in electric bike motors and batteries. A couple of bike manufacturers, most notably Specialized, are making their own electric bike motors. The vast majority of bike companies are using the same motors. So, you will find exactly the same electric motor being used on bikes from different brands and at different price points. Electric Bike Hub Motors vs Mid-Drive Motors
Electric bikes tend to either come with a hub motor or a mid-drive motor. Mid-drive motors sit where the cranks and bottom bracket are on a bike and drive the cranks and chain around. Hub drive motors sit in the middle of the wheel and drive the wheel directly. Hub drive electric bikes are cheaper but less efficient, and less smooth, to ride.
