Riese and Muller are an innovative Germany company dedicated to making the best electric bikes on the market. All of their bikes are made to order in Germany and typically have a lead time of between 4 and 8 weeks. Because the bikes are made to order you can customise them to your needs. You can add all kinds of cargo racks and boxes, different displays, extra batteries, integrated locks and lights. Their current range has 17,000 different combinations for you to pick from.

What choices do you get?

While a lot of the other customisation programs are focussed on colour schemes the Riese & Muller customisation process is focussed on parts and accessories. On a typical bike there will be 2 or 3 colours to choose from and the electric motor will be fixed for that model. You can then normally pick to change the type of gearing from standard derailleur gears to an internal hub gear. Once that base bike has been selected you can then select the following:

· Type of display unit for the electric system

· Size and number of batteries

· Types of luggage racks (front and rear) or choice of cargo boxes and seats

· Locks

Depending on the choices you make there will normally be some extra charges which range from as low as £40 up to a couple of hundred for some of the batteries and some display units.

Where can I see the bikes?

Our Canterbury store have a selection of Riese & Muller bikes including a small number of demo bikes which are available for test rides.
