What Size Bike Helmet do you need? You've decided what helmet you want, but what size bike helmet do I need, how to measure myself and how should it fit you?
To measure your head for a helmet, use a soft measuring tape and wrap it about one inch above your eyebrows and ears, ensure the tape is level.
Most helmets sizes use cm. To make things a little more complicated, different brands use different scales and sizes. For instance, helmets sizes may be small, medium and large; when this is the case, there should be a sizing chart to show the translation between the size small and the measurement that covers.
A helmet should sit level on your head, not tilted backwards or forwards. When fastened, the helmet should not move more than an inch in either direction (front, back, left, right). A helmet should feel snug on your head but never tight.
