New Specialized Epic 8 – Fastest on XC and Beyond

Specialized are launching two new versions of their Epic full suspension mountain bike for 2024. The latest models are the Epic 8 and Epic 8 Evo.

Efficient x Capable x Lightweight = Fastest

The Epic has been Specialized’s World Cup Level XC race bike for years. It has been focussed on super lightweight, efficiency and short travel suspension. As XC courses have gotten more technical Specialized’s pro riders were increasingly opting for the longer travel Epic Evo. Specialized have now updated the Epic to move from 100mm travel to 120mm. This is still a super light bike and super-efficient with custom tuned shocks and remote lockout.

Fastest for Downcountry

The old Epic Evo was the World Cup Race bike with a bit more travel and some bigger tyres. The new Epic 8 Evo is closer in geometry and travel to the Stumpjumper trail bike but still have the XC efficiency you want for big miles. You could use the new Epic 8 Evo for your local trail rides but it would also be the perfect bike to cross the Alps, ride the length of Wales or do other big adventures on natural singletrack.
