The 2023 Orbea Occam M30 Full Suspension Mountain Bike takes the
already great performing Occam H30 and upgrades it with a carbon fibre frame.
This makes the frame significantly lighter without sacrificing strength so you
can ride faster for longer.
The Orbea Occam is a do it all modern 29er trail bike with 140mm
of travel front and rear. Lots of reviews rave about how efficiently this bike
climbs and you can use it for big days out but it can also handle rides
involving uplifts, bike parks and jumps. The M30 is the entry level carbon bike
in the Occam range.
The Occam comes with all the design features you would expect on a
modern trail bike including a slack head angle for better descending, long
wheel base for stability at speed and a steeper seat angle to put you in a
proper pedalling position.
A key design feature of the Occam is the Asymmetrical shock
linkage. The Occam design offsets the shock to the left side of the frame,
allowing the asymmetrical support to follow a more direct path. This straight
line that closely follows the shock mounting is the most efficient way to
neutralize suspension forces on the front triangle. It also makes it incredibly
easy to access damper controls and the tidy design leaves room for a water
bottle with easy left-side access.
The Occam M30 comes fitted with Fox shocks front and rear for
smooth and reliable suspension. The rest of the build uses great value reliable
equipment including 12 speed Shimano SLX and XT gearing and Shimano M6100
hydraulic brakes.
This bike is perfect for
Mountain bikers who want a do it all bike. The Occam M30 can
handle all-day rides on natural trails or a day out at the bike park. If you
want to take it to the big mountains it can handle that as well. With a carbon
frame it is lighter and has a better ride quality than the aluminium frame H
series bikes.
