The 2023 Whyte E-160 S 27.5" Enduro Electric Mountain Bike in Gloss Turquoise is the entry level bike in the new E-160 range but it is still a fully featured bike which will take your riding to the next level.
Whyte have always been known for pioneering geometry and suspension. The E-160 has been tuned by Whyte’s Senior Design Engineer Sam Shucksmith, the current and two-time British Enduro Series Champion. The E-160 has been engineered around the central philosophy; that a lowered centre of gravity delivers exceptional cornering agility and confident handling on any terrain. Whyte’s unique solution to mounting the motor and battery mass within the chassis gives uncompromised flow on the trails. And thanks to a huge 750Wh battery and high power 85Nm Bosch Performance Line CX motor, you're geared up for maximum enjoyment on the trails.
As the name suggests the E-160 S 27.5” comes with 27.5” wheels to provide better handling on small and xsmall size frames. It comes fitted with a 160mm travel RockShox ZEB fork and Rockshox Deluxe Select+ rear shock. Shimano Deore XT 11 speed running gear and TRP Trail Evo along with WTB tubeless ready wheels and Whyte’s own dropper post complete the build.

A couple of bike manufacturers, most notably Specialized, are making their own electric bike motors. The vast majority of bike companies are using the same motors. Electric Bike Hub Motors vs Mid-Drive Motors
Electric bikes tend to either come with a hub motor or a mid-drive motor. Mid-drive motors sit where the cranks and bottom bracket are on a bike and drive the cranks and chain around. Hub drive motors sit in the middle of the wheel and drive the wheel directly. Hub drive electric bikes are cheaper but less efficient, and less smooth, to ride.
