The Specialized S-Works Prevail II Vent Road Helmet is perfect for hot summer rides. The new S-Works Prevail II Vent’s massive cooling power helps better regulate your body’s temperature to keep you cooler so that you’ll always be ready when your ride heats up.
This new version of the Prevail includes the removal of a total of seven foam “bridges” from the center and sides to create more effective ventilation channels. These expanded channels move air across your head 18% faster than the original Prevail II. The faster air moves across your head, the faster heat is whisked away from your head and the cooler you remain. To keep things light the Prevail Vent uses a lighter version of MIPS technology called MIPS SL which integrates MIPS into the helmet padding.
This version of the Prevail is compatible with ANGi. The ANGi Crash Sensor gives you and your loved ones peace of mind like never before. When combined with the Specialized iOS or Android app, the sensor will detect a crash and send a text message to specified contacts in your phone. It also syncs with the Specialized app and STRAVA to provide GPS-based activity tracking. Your new helmet even includes a lifetime subscription to the Specialized Ride app.

What does MIPS do?
A Standard bike helmet protects you via a polystyrene shell which absorbs force and breaks apart. In a MIPS helmet, there is a liner that is in contact with your head and will move independently from the outer shell when there is an impact. This allows some of the force of the impact to be absorbed before the polystyrene shell takes the hit and reduces the level of shock to the brain. MIPS works best in angled impacts which is how many real-world crashes happen. Traditionally helmets have been designed for direct, head-on, impacts. So it is argued that a helmet with MIPS provides a greater level of safety in real-world conditions.
