The 2024 Specialized Turbo Levo SL Comp Alloy Electric Mountain Bike is designed for trail riders who love singletrack, love climbing and want a bike that will advance their skill and fitness. You’ll be blown away by it’s unmatched combination of flawless handling, capability, and “2 X You” amplification that gives you the Power to Ride More Trails.

The super light Levo SL Alloy is lean and responsive. It's dialled geometry, kinematics, and shock tuning leave nothing desired. The cockpit centres you in the bike, optimizing traction and corner control. The low bottom bracket, slack headtube angle, and reduced fork offset keep things stable in the rough. The head angle can be personalized to, 63.5, 64.5, and 65.5 degrees.

A 29” front wheel ensures stability and surefooted performance, while a 27.5” rear wheel allows for a compact chainstay and super responsive behaviour. If you prefer the rolling and traction benefits of a 29” rear wheel, just flip the pivot link chip and mount the big wheel.

The seamlessly-integrated Turbo electric operating system delivers unmatched performance across torque, range, ride feel, ride quality, power, reliability, and rider experience. It’s the invisible hand that enables you to do more, know more, go farther, feel stronger, and have more fun. The all new Specialized SL 1.2 motor is whisper quiet, boasts unmatched smoothness, delivers 43% more torque (50Nm), and 33% more power (320 Watts) than its predecessor. Combined with the efficient motor, you’re set up for long, epic rides of up to 5 hours (in Eco Mode).

This bike is perfect for

Mountain bikers who love the feel of an acoustic bike but want the extra assistance of an SL motor and battery to power up more climbs.

Key Features
  • New alloy frame, comes in mixed wheel configuration (compatible to 29 rear with no extra parts needed.) New kinematic with flatter leverage curve which provides more support and playfulness off the top, but plenty of control in rougher conditions. The headtube angle and bottom bracket height are both adjustable.
  • Worried about running out of power? No problem. Turbo Levo SL Alloy SL 1.2 motor eats up big miles and long days. And if you’re looking for even more miles, our range extender boosts your range by another 50 percent. On top of all that, our Specialized app can handle battery management automatically, ensuring your battery will last as long as you need it to.
  • For longer rides, just slide a 160 Wh Range Extender into your bottle cage—for 50% more range.

What is Specialized Mission Control?

Mission Control is a free app created by Specialized to work with their Turbo electric bikes. The app is exclusive to Specialized and unlocks a lot of features which you can’t get on other electric bike systems. Specialized recommend that everyone who has one of their electric bikes should pair it to Mission Control.

Mission control has been around for a few years and has gradually been evolving and improving. It covers four main areas:

  1. Track your rides – record speed, distance, maps etc
  2. Tune your ride – adjust max power, acceleration and other settings
  3. Manage your ride – make sure you don’t run out of power
  4. Fix your ride – get notified of errors and access diagnostics, including suggested fixes

Electric Bike Motors Explained

Electric bikes have really come into their own in the last couple of years. Thanks to advances in electric bike motors and batteries. A couple of bike manufacturers, most notably Specialized, are making their own electric bike motors. The vast majority of bike companies are using the same motors. So, you will find exactly the same electric motor being used on bikes from different brands and at different price points. In this guide, we’ll take you through the main types of electric bike motors. Look at the differences between the most commonly used brands.

Electric Bike Hub Motors vs Mid-Drive Motors

Electric bikes tend to either come with a hub motor or a mid-drive motor. Mid-drive motors sit where the cranks and bottom bracket are on a bike and drive the cranks and chain around. Hub drive motors sit in the middle of the wheel and drive the wheel directly. Hub drive electric bikes are cheaper but less efficient, and less smooth, to ride.

Who are Specialized?

Specialized is one of the best-known quality bike brands in the world. Started by a group of riders in 1974. A fact which has guided their decision making ever since.

" Made for riders, by riders."

They strove to make the best quality tires when quality tyres weren't around. When people wanted to ride cruisers in the dirt, they made the first production mountain bike. When roadies wanted to go faster, Specialized doubled down on carbon and built their own wind tunnel.

Bikes like the Allez, Rockhopper and Stumpjumper have developed followings and reputations of their own. Specialized has a reputation for making high-end, high-quality bikes. Specialized bikes always look great with high-quality paint and sensible sizing hel0s you get the right bike each time. If you buy a Specialized bike you can be guaranteed it will do what it is supposed to and will last.
