The 2023 Allant+ 6 Lowstep 400WH Hybrid Electric Bike is a deluxe e-bike for soaring through commutes and exploring gravel paths. It's equipped with the new Bosch Smart System motor that offers more connectivity than ever before. Pair your smartphone with your bike to log activities, plan routes and more.
The Allant+ 6 is built around a sleek hydroformed aluminium frame with a lowstep design. Three battery options for you to choose from, ranging from 400 – 725 Wh. Added comfort from an air-sprung suspension fork that cushions pot holes and bumps. A powerful Bosch smart system Performance Line CX motor (250 Wh, 85 Nm) capable of sustaining speeds up to 20 mph (25 km/h in Europe). A customisable system that can be controlled easily from your smartphone. Internally routed cables keep the bike looking sleek, and lights help you see and be seen while you ride.

Electric Bike Motors Explained
Electric bikes have really come into their own in the last couple of years. Thanks to advances in electric bike motors and batteries. A couple of bike manufacturers, most notably Specialized, are making their own electric bike motors. The vast majority of bike companies are using the same motors. So, you will find exactly the same electric motor being used on bikes from different brands and at different price points. Electric Bike Hub Motors vs Mid-Drive Motors
Electric bikes tend to either come with a hub motor or a mid-drive motor. Mid-drive motors sit where the cranks and bottom bracket are on a bike and drive the cranks and chain around. Hub drive motors sit in the middle of the wheel and drive the wheel directly. Hub drive electric bikes are cheaper but less efficient, and less smooth, to ride.

Trek Electric Bike Range Guide
The Trek electric bike range has been pretty enormous at times. This has mainly been due to a single model of bike being available in multiple battery and colour variations so you quickly ended up with dozens of variants. Thankfully Trek have scaled this back a little recently, and their electric bike range is now easier to understand.
Until recently nearly all Trek electric bikes came with Bosch motors. For the 2023 season they are continuing with Bosch but also introducing motors from new brands like TQ and Hydrive on selected models.
