The 2026 Specialized Chisel Hardtail Mountain Bike has been purpose-built to tackle modern cross-country trails and race courses with the utmost speed. In fact, it shares many of the same modern features as its Epic Hardtail sibling but in a more budget-friendly package—making it the most efficient and capable alloy hardtail out there.

The aluminium frame is built using D'Aluisio Smartweld Technology. Smartweld allows the most consistent, high-strength welds possible while taking full advantage of compliant, hydroformed alloy tubes. The result? One of the lightest alloy hardtail frames out there at 1,350g, which also features size-tuned stiffness. The Chisel also houses all of the modern features that you expect from an XC bike, like Progressive XC Geometry with a 68-degree headtube angle and longer reach, internal cable routing, a threaded bottom bracket, boost spacing, 30.9mm dropper post compatibility, and 1x-only drivetrains.

The Chisel Hardtail comes with SRAM's tried and true SX Eagle 1x12 speed drivetrain and Level T hydraulic disc brakes, a RockShox Judy Silver fork, and 27mm internal width alloy wheels wrapped in 2.35 Fast Track Control casing tyres.

This bike is perfect for

XC and marathon racers who want a super quick bike on a budget. If your priority is speed, and covering distances, the Chisel Hardtail is a great affordable option.

Who are Specialized?

Specialized is one of the best-known quality bike brands in the world. Started by a group of riders in 1974. A fact which has guided their decision making ever since.

" Made for riders, by riders."

They strove to make the best quality tires when quality tyres weren't around. When people wanted to ride cruisers in the dirt, they made the first production mountain bike. When roadies wanted to go faster, Specialized doubled down on carbon and built their own wind tunnel.

Bikes like the Allez, Rockhopper and Stumpjumper have developed followings and reputations of their own. Specialized has a reputation for making high-end, high-quality bikes. Specialized bikes always look great with high-quality paint and sensible sizing hel0s you get the right bike each time. If you buy a Specialized bike you can be guaranteed it will do what it is supposed to and will last.
