The 2023 Trek Dual Sport 3 Equipped Gen 4 Hybrid Bike in Matte Trek Black is a high-performance hybrid bike with upgraded components that stand up to long rides and commutes on a variety of surfaces, from city streets to gravel trails and more! The lightweight frame has a terrain-smoothing suspension fork and is decked out with ride-ready accessories like a rack, mudguards and lights that are powered by a dynamo hub.

The Dual Sport is built around a lightweight aluminium frame and comes with a suspension fork with a lockout. The riding position is sporty, but upright enough to give you good all-round visibility in traffic.

The Dual Sport 3 comes with a simple 1x10 Shimano drivetrain that ditches the front derailleur for easier operation. The wide-range 11-46 cassette still gives you all the gears you need to conquer hills. A Shimano dynamo hub that powers the included front and rear lights, disc brakes, ergonomic grips, mudguards, an MIK-compatible rear rack and a Blendr stem for easy accessory integration.

This bike is perfect for

Riders who want a super practical bike for commuting and getting around town. The Dual Sport 3 can handle tracks and paths as well as tarmac. With racks, mudguards and lights all fitted this is a super practical choice and with a 1x drivetrain it is simple and easy to maintain.

Key Features

  • The 1x drivetrain gives you all the gears you need and none you don’t
  • It comes equipped with lights, mudguards and a rear rack so you're ready to ride right from the start
  • The dynamo hub powers the front and rear lights, ensuring that you’re always able to hop on and go
  • The fork's hydraulic lockout feature ensures you're always riding efficiently: close it for smooth Tarmac, open it up on rougher trails

Why buy a hybrid bike?

Hybrids are the bikes that most people should have. If you want a bike for commuting, going to the shops, getting fit or just for getting around a hybrid is generally the best choice. They combine the speed of a road racing bike with the confident handling of a mountain bike to give you the best of both worlds.

Where are you going to ride?

The first point to think about when picking a hybrid is the kind of surfaces you will be riding on. There are two main flavours of hybrid bike. Some, like the Trek FX, Specialized Sirrus and Cannondale Quick are mainly intended for use on the road. They have bigger gears and skinnier tyres so that they are fast on tarmac. Other bikes like the Trek Dual Sport, Specialized Sirrus X or Cannondale Quick CX are designed to be used on a mixture of surfaces including tracks and gravel paths. They have bigger, grippier tyres and often come with easier gears and some suspension to soak up bumps.
