The 2022 Trek Verve+ 2 400WH Electric Hybrid Bike in Matte Gunmetal is an electric hybrid bike that will help you get out and ride more. Your daily cruises, commutes and workouts will all get a boost from the reliable Bosch pedal-assist system. Plus, this e-bike is equipped with parts that put your comfort and safety first, like a road-smoothing suspension fork and seat post, wide, stable tyres and front and rear lights.

The Verve+2 is built around a lightweight Alpha Smooth aluminium frame with a stagger geometry so it’s easy to get your feet on the floor when you stop. A Bosch Performance Line Cruise (250 W, 65 Nm) motor, a Bosch 400WH battery and a Bosch Intuvia controller. This is the industry standard setup for smooth and reliable performance with the 400WH battery being big enough for every day errands and rides around town and can also handle longer weekend rides.

The Verve+ 2 comes with a 9-speed Shimano drivetrain, hydraulic disc brakes for all-weather stopping power, a suspension fork and seatpost, wide puncture-resistant tyres for extra stability, ergonomic grips, a kickstand, front and rear lights, a lock and a MIK rear rack and mudguards.

Electric Bike Hub Motors vs Mid-Drive Motors

Electric bikes tend to either come with a hub motor or a mid-drive motor. Mid-drive motors sit where the cranks and bottom bracket are on a bike and drive the cranks and chain around. Hub drive motors sit in the middle of the wheel and drive the wheel directly. Hub drive electric bikes are cheaper but less efficient, and less smooth, to ride.

Trek Electric Bike Range Guide

The Trek electric bike range has been pretty enormous at times. This has mainly been due to a single model of bike being available in multiple battery and colour variations so you quickly ended up with dozens of variants. Thankfully Trek have scaled this back a little recently, and their electric bike range is now easier to understand.

Until recently nearly all Trek electric bikes came with Bosch motors. For the 2023 season they are continuing with Bosch but also introducing motors from new brands like TQ and Hydrive on selected models.
