The 2025 Specialized Turbo Porto Electric Cargo Bike is meticulously crafted to be the highest performing, most refined, most beautiful way for you, your family, and your things to move, because what you ride means something.

With 90 Nm of torque and a 710 watt battery, no electric bike in its category has more power. That means you can easily cruise and stay there as long as it takes. Doesn’t matter if your kids' school is the top of Alpe d’Huez, all that power combined with the legendary smooth delivery from the Turbo e-bike system means you can load them up and effortlessly climb. Porto inspires confidence in the rider from day one. Low standover means starting, stopping, and hopping on and off the bike, even when loaded, is a breeze, just like the ride. It may be long, and often loaded down with people and gear, but it rides just like a normal bike (or better). By implementing a long tail for cargo, rather than a large front load basket, you can park it like a normal bike too.

The Porto is no stripped down cargo hauler. It comes loaded with an included front rack and long tail rear rack, ready for child seats, passenger seats, panniers, and countless other accessories. It’s built with your family in mind, designed for a stable and nimble ride when you’re carrying what’s most precious, without sacrificing an ounce of style. Every cargo e-bike can carry people, but Porto is built to carry people. When it’s your family on the back, the difference matters.

This bike is perfect for

Hauling your family, shopping and gear around town. With plenty of torque and carry capacity the Porto is one of the highest performing bikes in it's category.

What is Specialized Mission Control?

Mission Control is a free app created by Specialized to work with their Turbo electric bikes. The app is exclusive to Specialized and unlocks a lot of features which you can’t get on other electric bike systems. Specialized recommend that everyone who has one of their electric bikes should pair it to Mission Control.

Mission control has been around for a few years and has gradually been evolving and improving. It covers four main areas:

  1. Track your rides – record speed, distance, maps etc
  2. Tune your ride – adjust max power, acceleration and other settings
  3. Manage your ride – make sure you don’t run out of power
  4. Fix your ride – get notified of errors and access diagnostics, including suggested fixes

Electric Bike Motors Explained

Electric bikes have really come into their own in the last couple of years. Thanks to advances in electric bike motors and batteries. A couple of bike manufacturers, most notably Specialized, are making their own electric bike motors. The vast majority of bike companies are using the same motors. So, you will find exactly the same electric motor being used on bikes from different brands and at different price points. In this guide, we’ll take you through the main types of electric bike motors. Look at the differences between the most commonly used brands.

Electric Bike Hub Motors vs Mid-Drive Motors

Electric bikes tend to either come with a hub motor or a mid-drive motor. Mid-drive motors sit where the cranks and bottom bracket are on a bike and drive the cranks and chain around. Hub drive motors sit in the middle of the wheel and drive the wheel directly. Hub drive electric bikes are cheaper but less efficient, and less smooth, to ride.

Who are Specialized?

Specialized is one of the best-known quality bike brands in the world. Started by a group of riders in 1974. A fact which has guided their decision making ever since.

" Made for riders, by riders."

They strove to make the best quality tires when quality tyres weren't around. When people wanted to ride cruisers in the dirt, they made the first production mountain bike. When roadies wanted to go faster, Specialized doubled down on carbon and built their own wind tunnel.

Bikes like the Allez, Rockhopper and Stumpjumper have developed followings and reputations of their own. Specialized has a reputation for making high-end, high-quality bikes. Specialized bikes always look great with high-quality paint and sensible sizing hel0s you get the right bike each time. If you buy a Specialized bike you can be guaranteed it will do what it is supposed to and will last.
