The 2022 Specialized Turbo Levo SL Comp Carbon Electric Mountain Bike is a new lightweight breed of electric mountain bike. Based on the quick and lively ride of the Specialized Stumpjumper the Turbo SL has a new generation electric motor that doubles your effort with as much as 240 watts of silent and powerful assistance. The Turbo Levo SL Expert Carbon features a full carbon frame paired to full Fox suspension and a SRAM Eagle NX drivetrain.
The Turbo Levo SL is effectively a Stumpjumper that lets you snag three laps of your favourite trail instead of just one. The Turbo Levo SL doesn’t have the same power and range of the Specialized Turbo Levo and Kenevo bikes. Instead it is designed to look and ride like your non-electric trial bike; just a little bit faster and with a little more power.
The lightweight SL 1.1 motor doubles your effort with as much as 240 watts of silent and powerful assistance to your pedals. The motor’s responsive torque curve delivers power perfectly in-tune with your normal riding cadence and leaves no resistance when you’re riding without power assistance. The 320Wh internal battery delivers up to 3.5 hours of ride time, while the optional 160Wh Range Extender adds another 1.5 hours of ride time, for a total of 5 hours on the trail. On top of all that, the Specialized Mission Control App can handle battery management automatically, ensuring your battery will last as long as you need it to. With the Mission Control App you can tune the SL 1.1 motor to your riding style, record rides, and monitor the battery.
This bike is perfect for
Riders who want the look and experience of their standard trail bike but with the extra boost of a 240 watt motor. With a carbon frame, smooth Fox shocks and SRAM Eagle NX gearing the Turbo SL Comp Carbon is a great value build.
As electric bikes have become more sophisticated it’s important to stay on top of updates. Just like your home computer or smart phone regular updates are now released for most electric bike systems. If you buy a bike from Cycles UK we will do electric bike updates and diagnostics you need free of charge.
Electric bike updates can help to improve battery life, tweak how the motor works and fix bugs and problems. Most systems will require you to plug your bike into some specialist software at an authorised dealer. At Cycles UK we are authorised dealers for top electric bike brands including Specialized, Trek, Orbea, Whyte, Cannondale and Raleigh. As a result our stores have the software and hardware to run updates on all the major electric bike systems including Bosch, Shimano and Ebikemotion.

Mission Control is a free app created by Specialized to work with their Turbo electric bikes. The app is exclusive to Specialized and unlocks a lot of features which you can’t get on other electric bike systems. Specialized recommend that everyone who has one of their electric bikes should pair it to Mission Control.
Mission control has been around for a few years and has gradually been evolving and improving. It covers four main areas:
Electric bikes have really come into their own in the last couple of years. Thanks to advances in electric bike motors and batteries. A couple of bike manufacturers, most notably Specialized, are making their own electric bike motors. The vast majority of bike companies are using the same motors. So, you will find exactly the same electric motor being used on bikes from different brands and at different price points. In this guide, we’ll take you through the main types of electric bike motors. Look at the differences between the most commonly used brands.
Electric bikes tend to either come with a hub motor or a mid-drive motor. Mid-drive motors sit where the cranks and bottom bracket are on a bike and drive the cranks and chain around. Hub drive motors sit in the middle of the wheel and drive the wheel directly. Hub drive electric bikes are cheaper but less efficient, and less smooth, to ride.
Specialized is one of the best-known quality bike brands in the world. Started by a group of riders in 1974. A fact which has guided their decision making ever since.
" Made for riders, by riders."
They strove to make the best quality tires when quality tyres weren't around. When people wanted to ride cruisers in the dirt, they made the first production mountain bike. When roadies wanted to go faster, Specialized doubled down on carbon and built their own wind tunnel.
Bikes like the Allez, Rockhopper and Stumpjumper have developed followings and reputations of their own. Specialized has a reputation for making high-end, high-quality bikes. Specialized bikes always look great with high-quality paint and sensible sizing hel0s you get the right bike each time. If you buy a Specialized bike you can be guaranteed it will do what it is supposed to and will last.
