The 2024 Specialized Turbo Creo SL E5 Comp Electric Gravel Bike is a no-compromise road and gravel e-bike. All roads, all conditions, all electric. Light, compliant, and tougher than anything you could throw at it.
The Creo SL E5 is built around a premium E5 Aluminium frame. It has progressive geometry that will have you ripping everything from wide open roads to dicey gravel tracks with ultimate confidence. A more ergonomic endurance position feels great, with the power to ride all day. It comes with a Future Shock fork with 20mm of smooth travel at the handlebars, that reduces impacts by 53%. Future Shock helps keep your hands and bars steady for a smoother ride with more control to stay fast, safe, and confident—all while helping reduce fatigue over long days in the saddle.
The all-new TURBO SL 1.2 system delivers industry-leading efficiency for a range of up to 5 hours. It creates 33% more power (320 Watts) than its predecessor and delivers that power across an ideal pedalling cadence for a supernatural feel. With 43% more torque (50Nm), the power comes on instantly—making quick work of the steepest hills. But less is more when it comes to noise, so we reduced dBs by 40%. It’s literally whisper quiet. The Turbo Creo SL E5 Comp comes with 1x12 speed SRAM Apex gearing and DT Swiss G540 wheels.

Mission Control is a free app created by Specialized to work with their Turbo electric bikes. The app is exclusive to Specialized and unlocks a lot of features which you can’t get on other electric bike systems. Specialized recommend that everyone who has one of their electric bikes should pair it to Mission Control.
Mission control has been around for a few years and has gradually been evolving and improving. It covers four main areas:
- Track your rides – record speed, distance, maps etc
- Tune your ride – adjust max power, acceleration and other settings
- Manage your ride – make sure you don’t run out of power
- Fix your ride – get notified of errors and access diagnostics, including suggested fixes

Electric Bike Hub Motors vs Mid-Drive Motors
Electric bikes tend to either come with a hub motor or a mid-drive motor. Mid-drive motors sit where the cranks and bottom bracket are on a bike and drive the cranks and chain around. Hub drive motors sit in the middle of the wheel and drive the wheel directly. Hub drive electric bikes are cheaper but less efficient, and less smooth, to ride.
