The 2021 Cannondale Trail Neo 1 Electric Mountain Bike can handle everything from serious forest tracks to singletrack. With Cannondale’s progressive trail geometry, and legendary aluminium know-how, you get a light and lively frame coupled with a cleanly integrated Bosch drive unit. This is the top model in the Trail Neo range and comes with a massive 750wh battery so you won’t have any range anxiety.
Short chainstays for agility and
traction, a slack head angle for solid stability, and a battery and drive unit
positioned as low and centrally as possible create a surprisingly nimble, yet
steady feel. So you’ll feel at home on tight and twisty singletrack. But the
Trail Neo is versatile too, with pre-wired light cables and clever mounts for
racks and mudguards.
The Trail Neo 1 comes with 27.5" wheels on the smallest size and 29" wheels on all other sizes. A Rockshox Silver 35 fork. 12 speed Shimano Deore
gearing, 4 piston brakes and tubeless ready wheels complete a trail ready
build. Power comes from a Bosch Performance Line CX motor and 750wh battery.

Electric Bike Hub Motors vs Mid-Drive Motors
Electric bikes tend to either come with a hub motor or a mid-drive motor. Mid-drive motors sit where the cranks and bottom bracket are on a bike and drive the cranks and chain around. Hub drive motors sit in the middle of the wheel and drive the wheel directly. Hub drive electric bikes are cheaper but less efficient, and less smooth, to ride.
