The 2024 Specialized Crux Comp Gravel Bike is the lightest gravel bike in the world, with the exceptional capability of massive tyre clearance and performance gravel geometry. It’s not just the ultimate expression of gravel performance, it’s your one-way ticket to gravel enlightenment.
The Crux FACT 10r Carbon fibre frame weighs in at just 825g. Specialized used tech for their lightweight road bike, the Aethos, to make the Crux super light and nimble. The Crux is built with performance gravel geometry and race-influenced fit making it ideal for gravel racing. To make sure you can get over the roughest gravel sections it has clearance for tyres of 700x47c or 650x2.1.
This Crux Comp comes spec'd with a reliable and smooth-shifting Shimano GRX 12-speed groupset, tough DT G540 Disc wheels, and 2Bliss Ready, 700x38mm Pathfinder Pro tyres that hookup over nasty terrain.

The Pros of Commuting on a Gravel Bike
Gravel bikes are fast, nearly as quick as a standard road bike. They are certainly quicker on the road than most mountain bikes and many hybrids. That means you can get to work, and home, in the shortest time possible. But what makes gravel bikes so good for commuting is that they are extremely versatile. They can be ridden on tarmac, cycle paths, old railway lines, canal towpaths, and even off-road trails. So, it’s easy to mix it up on your commute and avoid traffic.
Another big advantage of commuting on a gravel bike is that they're generally more comfortable than road bikes. This is because they have wider tyres and longer wheelbases, which results in a smoother and more stable ride. So you don’t get bounced around as much on rough roads. Most gravel bikes have a fairly upright riding position which makes it easier to see what’s going on in traffic.
