The new top-of-the-line Specialized Flux 1250 headlight continues the Flux tradition of optimal beam pattern, wide variety of mounting options, and super rugged construction. Compared to the Flux 1200, the Flux 1250 increases lumens and runtime, includes helmet and camera-style mounts, while dropping the price!

Mode Shift user interface gives you three steady modes for just the right mix of lumens and runtimes to match riding conditions. Press-and-hold to enter the secondary modes, where you will find a Steady Flash mode for increased visibility in urban conditions, a Flash mode for daytime use, and 10 and 20-hour flashlight modes for bikepacking conditions, or when you forget to recharge and need to maximize the last few percent of battery life.

IPX7 waterproof means this light can survive being submerged 1 meter deep for 30 minutes. It's not meant for scuba diving but can handle anything you can throw at it on two wheels.

  • The sculpted double-beam pattern uses separate optics for wide and spot beams to put light where you need it and maximizes every lumen. The result is a beam pattern that torch-style lights can't touch.
  • Latest CREE XP-L High-Intensity LEDs combines XM-L level of output in a tighter 3.5mm package for maximum lumens with better beam pattern control.
  • Quick-release bar mount works on 22.2, 25.4, and 31.8mm bars to put the light above, below, or in front the stem to clear cables and computer mounts.
  • Also includes helmet mount and action camera style mount to giving you every option.
  • Premium 3400mAh Li-ion internal battery is USB rechargeable via micro USB cable.
  • Depending on mode, up to an additional three hours of super-low output are available when listed runtimes expire.
Mode: Output, Runtime

  • Steady High mode: 1250 lumens, 1:30 hours
  • Steady Medium mode: 600 lumens, 3:00 hours
  • Steady Low mode: 300 lumens, 6:00 hours
Press-and-hold to turn off, long press-and-hold to enter secondary modes.

  • Steady Flash mode: 300 + 300 lumens, 4:00 hours
  • Daytime Flash mode: 450 lumens, 20:00 hours
  • Very low mode: 120 lumens, 10:00 hours
  • Super low mode: 60 lumens, 20:00 hours
Extra-long press-and-hold to lockout light for travelling.

Bike Lights - How Many Lumen Do You Need?

Bike lights are rated in Lumens. A Lumen is the measurement of the total visible light emitted and is commonly used for all kinds of bulbs.

One thing worth noting is that most lights advertise their headline rate. Packaging may say 1000 lumens. Reading the small print they might only do that for an hour. That light may run 500 or 600 lumens for 2 or 3 hours. So it's worth buying a light with more lumens than you need to get decent running times.

There is no fixed agreement on how many Lumens you need for a bike light as it depends on the type of cycling you are doing. As a rough guide we say that:

  • Daytime running lights = 100+ Lumens
  • Urban commuting lights = 50 to 200 Lumens
  • Rural riding lights = 400 to 600 Lumens
  • Trail riding lights = 600+ Lumens

Who are Specialized?

Specialized is one of the best-known quality bike brands in the world. Started by a group of riders in 1974. A fact which has guided their decision making ever since.

" Made for riders, by riders."

They strove to make the best quality tires when quality tyres weren't around. When people wanted to ride cruisers in the dirt, they made the first production mountain bike. When roadies wanted to go faster, Specialized doubled down on carbon and built their own wind tunnel.

Bikes like the Allez, Rockhopper and Stumpjumper have developed followings and reputations of their own. Specialized has a reputation for making high-end, high-quality bikes. Specialized bikes always look great with high-quality paint and sensible sizing hel0s you get the right bike each time. If you buy a Specialized bike you can be guaranteed it will do what it is supposed to and will last.
