The 2024 Trek FX Sport 5 Hybrid Bike in Red Carbon Smoke is one of the lightest and fastest hybrid bikes around. It has every performance feature of a high-end road bike, with the added benefit of flat handlebars for greater comfort and control. A lightweight 400 Series OCLV Carbon frame, a high-quality Shimano drivetrain tubeless ready wheels make this a seriously quick and capable machine.

The FX Sport is built around a lightweight 400 Series OCLV Carbon frame with a carbon fork. This not only makes the bike extremely light but also makes it more comfortable as the carbon fibre helps to soak up bumps and vibrations from the road.

The FX Sport 5 is equipped with a super simple 1x11 drivetrain which uses a mix of road, gravel and mountain bike parts. This gives you a massive range of gears for getting up hills but also lets you cruise comfortably at speed. Hydraulic disc brakes ensure plenty of stopping power and the tubeless ready wheels come with gravel tyres for extra grip and versatility.

This bike is perfect for

Riders who want road bike weight and speed with the comfort of a hybrid bike and the gearing range of a gravel bike.

Key Features

  • A fitness bike that's every bit as fast and capable as the race bikes found in our road line-up
  • The 1x drivetrain delivers a wide range of gearing with the simplicity of a single shifter
  • The cables are routed internally, which protects them from the elements and adds to the bike's sleek look
  • It's easy to accessorise with mudguards, lights and more!

Why buy a hybrid bike?

Hybrids are the bikes that most people should have. If you want a bike for commuting, going to the shops, getting fit or just for getting around a hybrid is generally the best choice. They combine the speed of a road racing bike with the confident handling of a mountain bike to give you the best of both worlds.

Where are you going to ride?

The first point to think about when picking a hybrid is the kind of surfaces you will be riding on. There are two main flavours of hybrid bike. Some, like the Trek FX, Specialized Sirrus and Cannondale Quick are mainly intended for use on the road. They have bigger gears and skinnier tyres so that they are fast on tarmac. Other bikes like the Trek Dual Sport, Specialized Sirrus X or Cannondale Quick CX are designed to be used on a mixture of surfaces including tracks and gravel paths. They have bigger, grippier tyres and often come with easier gears and some suspension to soak up bumps.
