The Hiplok Z-Lok Armoured Reuseable Ties (Twin Pack) is the Winner of the Design and Innovation Award 2018. Z LOK is the world’s first secured, reusable zip tie. Offering ultra-convenient protection against opportunist thefts for short pit stops, on car racks, for accessories or with any outdoor equipment. It is small enough to fit in a jersey pocket and gives a quick and easy way to secure your bike at café or shop stops. While you wouldn’t want to leave your bike locked just with the tie for extended periods it is perfect for short stops while you pop inside a café to place an order or buy some snacks.
Hiplok’s double ratchet design combined with a steel core and springs allows the Z LOK to be both secure and lightweight. Fully adjustable to use as much or as little of the 400mm locking diameter as needed, Z LOK cinches and locks to secure your equipment, whether as a back-up for a primary lock, short term security, or to keep accessories or other parts safe whilst you’re away from the bike.

What are Sold Secure Locks
The Sold Secure organisation test bike locks by physically trying to break them under laboratory conditions. They then rate the locks Bronze, Silver or Gold according to how long they take to break into. Gold being the best. Insurers will insist on a standard of lock to provide cover.
Who are Sold Secure?
Sold Secure is an independent organisation. It was originally setup by Northumberland and Essex police forces with the help of the Home Office. The Master Locksmiths Association took over but still work closely with police forces.
Sold Secure have their own laboratory near Daventry where they test out locks. They have a team of professional locksmiths. They test each lock using the same tools and techniques. To see which ones stand up against attacks for the longest. Sold Secure work with police on understanding new lock breaking techniques used on the streets.
