The 2023 Trek FX 2 Disc Stagger Hybrid Bike is a stylish and versatile hybrid bike with a unisex classic step-through frame geometry that's easier to mount and dismount, especially when you have loaded panniers or a child seat. The FX 2 is one of our best-selling hybrid bikes and makes a great commuter, fitness or fun bike. It’s mainly at home on the road but can also handle some light gravel paths.

The FX 2 Disc is built around a lightweight aluminium frame with as sporty but upright riding position for a fast but comfortable ride. Internal cables give a clean look and protect your cables from dirt and grime. The frame comes with all of the mounting points you need to add mudguards and pannier racks.

The FX 2 Disc comes with reliable 18 speed Shimano gears with a wide range so you can easily get up hills. Tektro hydraulic disc brakes are a tried and trusted option for stopping power and the 35c hybrid tyres give plenty of grip.

This bike is perfect for

Riders who want a single bike that you can use for fitness rides, commutes and cruises, and you value the confidence that comes from the superior all-weather stopping power of disc brakes. The unisex stagger frame makes the bike easier to hop on and off.

Key Features

  • The step-through frame makes it easy to hop on and go, and hop off when your ride is over
  • More confident braking means that bad weather doesn't have to keep you from enjoying your ride
  • The cables are routed internally, which protects them from the elements and adds to the bike's sleek look
  • It's easy to accessorise with racks, a kickstand, mudguards, lights and more!
  • Like every Trek hybrid, it's backed by a lifetime warranty

Why buy a hybrid bike?

Hybrids are the bikes that most people should have. If you want a bike for commuting, going to the shops, getting fit or just for getting around a hybrid is generally the best choice. They combine the speed of a road racing bike with the confident handling of a mountain bike to give you the best of both worlds.

Where are you going to ride?

The first point to think about when picking a hybrid is the kind of surfaces you will be riding on. There are two main flavours of hybrid bike. Some, like the Trek FX, Specialized Sirrus and Cannondale Quick are mainly intended for use on the road. They have bigger gears and skinnier tyres so that they are fast on tarmac. Other bikes like the Trek Dual Sport, Specialized Sirrus X or Cannondale Quick CX are designed to be used on a mixture of surfaces including tracks and gravel paths. They have bigger, grippier tyres and often come with easier gears and some suspension to soak up bumps.

Trek made their first bikes in 1976 in a barn in Wisconsin. Now they’re one of the biggest bike brands in the world. Trek bikes cover everything from professional-level road and mountain bike race bikes to commuters, hybrids and kids bikes. There is a strong heritage of racing at Trek and many Trek bikes have a strong race influence.
