The 2025 Specialized Sirrus X 1.0 Hybrid Bike is a capable hybrid bike designed to handle a mix of terrain. It works like a flat bar gravel bike, so it’s fast on the road but stable and strong enough to handle paths and tracks.

Unlike the many multi-terrain hybrid bikes the Sirrus X does not have a suspension fork on the front. This saves around 1.7kg so the bike is significantly lighter. Instead Specialized have fitted wide 42c Pathfinder tyres to help you float over rough ground. The upright riding position helps you keep control while the scientifically tested and ergonomically engineered Shared Platform Body Geometry saddle, handgrips, and pedals add to the comfort levels.

The Sirrus X 1.0 comes with a simple 7 speed drivetrain and mechanical disc brakes. It also comes with plenty of mounts for racks and mudguards for practical commuting.

This bike is perfect for

Riders who want a light and versatile hybrid bike for use on varied terrain, whether commuting, doing weekend rides or working on your fitness.

Key Features

  • Lightweight A1 Alloy frame with clean internal cable routing, 3.5lbs (1.7kg) lighter than equivalent bikes with a suspension fork.
  • Simple shifting with 7 speed gearing, and reliable stopping from mechanical disc brakes.
  • Float over rough stuff with fast rolling Specialized Pathfinder 42c tyres featuring proprietary Gripton rubber compound.

Why buy a hybrid bike?

Hybrids are the bikes that most people should have. If you want a bike for commuting, going to the shops, getting fit or just for getting around a hybrid is generally the best choice. They combine the speed of a road racing bike with the confident handling of a mountain bike to give you the best of both worlds.

Where are you going to ride?

The first point to think about when picking a hybrid is the kind of surfaces you will be riding on. There are two main flavours of hybrid bike. Some, like the Trek FX, Specialized Sirrus and Cannondale Quick are mainly intended for use on the road. They have bigger gears and skinnier tyres so that they are fast on tarmac. Other bikes like the Trek Dual Sport, Specialized Sirrus X or Cannondale Quick CX are designed to be used on a mixture of surfaces including tracks and gravel paths. They have bigger, grippier tyres and often come with easier gears and some suspension to soak up bumps.

Who are Specialized?

Specialized is one of the best-known quality bike brands in the world. Started by a group of riders in 1974. A fact which has guided their decision making ever since.

" Made for riders, by riders."

They strove to make the best quality tires when quality tyres weren't around. When people wanted to ride cruisers in the dirt, they made the first production mountain bike. When roadies wanted to go faster, Specialized doubled down on carbon and built their own wind tunnel.

Bikes like the Allez, Rockhopper and Stumpjumper have developed followings and reputations of their own. Specialized has a reputation for making high-end, high-quality bikes. Specialized bikes always look great with high-quality paint and sensible sizing hel0s you get the right bike each time. If you buy a Specialized bike you can be guaranteed it will do what it is supposed to and will last.
