The 2024 Specialized Turbo Levo SL Expert Carbon Full Suspension Electric Mountain Bike is designed for the trail rider who craves flawless handling, capability, and “2 X You” amplification that gives you the Power to Ride More Trails.
The all new carbon frame, comes in mixed wheel configuration. A 29” front wheel ensures stability and surefooted performance in the most hectic terrain, while a 27.5” rear wheel allows for a compact chainstay and super responsive behaviour. If you prefer the rolling and traction benefits of a 29” rear wheel, just flip the pivot link chip and mount the big wheel. It has new kinematics with a flatter leverage curve which provides more support and playfulness off the top, but plenty of control in rougher conditions. The headtube angle and bottom bracket height are both adjustable.
The all new Specialized SL 1.2 motor is whisper quiet, boasts unmatched smoothness, delivers 43% more torque (50Nm), and 33% more power (320 Watts) than its predecessor. Resulting in “2x You” performance. The seamlessly-integrated operating system delivers unmatched performance across torque, range, ride feel, ride quality, power, reliability, and rider experience. It’s the invisible hand that enables you to do more, know more, go farther, feel stronger, and have more fun.
The Levo SL Expert comes with a Fox 36 Performance Elite fork and Fox Float Performance Elite Series rear shock. Gearing comes from the latest SRAM GX Eagle Transmission and SRAM Code Silver Stealth.

What is Specialized Mission Control?
Mission Control is a free app created by Specialized to work with their Turbo electric bikes. The app is exclusive to Specialized and unlocks a lot of features which you can’t get on other electric bike systems. Specialized recommend that everyone who has one of their electric bikes should pair it to Mission Control.
Mission control has been around for a few years and has gradually been evolving and improving. It covers four main areas:
- Track your rides – record speed, distance, maps etc
- Tune your ride – adjust max power, acceleration and other settings
- Manage your ride – make sure you don’t run out of power
- Fix your ride – get notified of errors and access diagnostics, including suggested fixes

Electric Bike Motors Explained
Electric bikes have really come into their own in the last couple of years. Thanks to advances in electric bike motors and batteries. Electric Bike Hub Motors vs Mid-Drive Motors
Electric bikes tend to either come with a hub motor or a mid-drive motor. Mid-drive motors sit where the cranks and bottom bracket are on a bike and drive the cranks and chain around. Hub drive motors sit in the middle of the wheel and drive the wheel directly. Hub drive electric bikes are cheaper but less efficient, and less smooth, to ride.
