Lake MX145 MTB Boot Black 2018 £156.00
The Lake MX145 is the answer to those autumn or spring days that you thought were too wet to ride in. Developed for mild, wet weather the MX145 is ideal for UK riding conditions.
The upper features waxed canvas, water resistant leather and a waterproof membrane making this a highly water resistant cycling. The waxed canvas provides a classic look that has not only great water resistance but is also has a breathable membrane. Dual BOA® closure gives a superior level of adjustability, security and comfort.
What really shines on the MX145 is the sole system. Not only does the MX145 feature Lake’s Legendary Glass Injected Nylon sole, but also one of the most technically advanced rubber soles courtesy of Hypergrip. The Hypergrip rubber sole features ICE LOCK tread inserts, which are vertically injected micro glass fibres that grip virtually all surfaces. This gives you a wet weather cycling shoe that is sure footed and stable in any condition. Fat bike, commuting, cyclocross, you name it, the MX145 is up for it.
The MX145 is built around Lake’s MX Sport Last. This last features a larger, more roomy toe-box than Lake’s Comfort last while providing increased foot control through the heel and saddle of the foot. The resulting fit is designed for aggressive riding while remaining comfortable to wear all day. Ideal for couriers, adventure cyclists & anyone else who wears their cycling shoes for long periods of time.
About Lake Cycling Shoes
Lake have been making cycling shoes since 1982. As they like to point out they are one of the few cycling shoe brands who do nothing but manufacture cycling shoes. Lake are based in Michigan and their winter shoes are designed to withstand the freezing temperatures that they get there.
One of the things that makes Lake shoes different is the range of lasts that they use. The ‘last’ is the mold that shoes are made around. Lake have 9 different lasts (plus wide fit versions) allowing them to tailor their shoes to different types of cycling. So, for instance, they have mountain bike lasts designed for riders who may need to negotiate a hike-a-bike section, ones for all day comfort and ones designed for racing. This makes Lake’s shoes among the most comfortable available in the cycling market.
