You can get a great quality road bike with a choice of styles and equipment for £1000. Pretty much all the road bikes at this price point will come with an aluminium frame and carbon fork. What you will tend to find with a road bike around this price is built for road riding but not necessarily a racing ready bike this is due to a more upright comfortable riding position.
