Trek is the world leader in Mountain Bike technology, so it’s no surprise that their bikes are regular podium winners in Downhill, XC racing and more. But it may surprise you to find out that the technology trickles down to even their lowest price points, providing bikes that are both packed with features and excellent value for money. Like many other manufacturers, Trek have stopped making some of their women’s models and instead are producing their flagship bikes in a women’s spec with specific contact points and altered frame and cockpit geometry. This means that all the design and focus that goes in to the brand’s best selling models are now directly available for women instead of handing down features to individual women’s bikes. Almost all of the bikes in Trek’s range are now available for women, and often in nicer colours too.

Trek Marlin

The Trek Marlin has impressed us this year. The frame is a hand me down from last years more expensive X-caliber and all models use hydraulic disc brakes, making for a bike that looks and rides like a much higher end bike. Trek have also updated their designs to be more simplistic with larger logos which gets a big thumbs up from us.

The Marlin comes in the following specs:

  • Marlin 5 Tourney
  • Marlin 6 Altus
  • Marlin 7 Acera (Rockshox XC 30 Forks)

The Marlin is perfect as a first mountain bike, commuting, or even some more serious XC and trail riding. The Marlin has the best value to performance ratio in its category.

Trek Roscoe

The Trek Roscoe is an entry level trail hardtail. Not many other manufacturers make a bike like this in the same price range, the only other similar bike we stock is the Cannondale Cujo. Much like the Marlin, the value for money on the Roscoe is outstanding. You get modern trail geometry and extra grippy 27.5+ tyres to fill you with confidence on technical single track which will ultimately help you develop your riding skills faster. A 1x drivetrain simplifies things whilst 120mm of travel soaks up the bumps.

Sibling hierarchy aside, the X-calibre is a lightweight aluminium XC bike, perfect for cross country, long distance rides, light singletrack and even racing. Whatever you ride on the X-calibre you will be riding it fast!

Trek Stache & Full Stache

The Trek Stache is a 29+ wheeled hardtail mountain bike and the Trek Full Stache is the full suspension version. With a big focus on traction and capability the Stache and Full Stache are designed to explore the backcountry and roll over anything in its path.

The Stache uses 120mm travel Rockshox Pike forks on a carbon frame benefiting from a “mid-stay” chain stay design that shortens the rear end for snappy handling. The Full Stache uses 130mm Rockshox pike forks and a 130mm fox performance float (and the same mid-stay design).
