Specialized Sirrus Recall Expanded

Specialized did a voluntary recall on some 2019 and 2020 Sirrus and Sirrus X Models in September 2020. The recall was related to the two-piece slotted cranks originally equipped on these bikes. Based on a small number of warranty reports, Specialized are now expanding the scope of the recall to include 2021 and 2022 Sirrus X 3.0 and 4.0 bicycles. The cranks may not have been installed to factory specification. This could cause the non-driveside crankarm to disengage while riding.

It is a pretty simple process to inspect the Sirrus bikes and determine if they have this issue. It's a quick job to fix and in most cases no extra parts are needed. There is no cost for the inspection work to be done. All Specialized retailers can do the work (regardless of where you purchased the bike).

The bikes impacted by the expanded Sirrus Recall are:

The bike family name (“Sirrus” or “Sirrus X”) is written on the toptube and the model name (e.g. “3.0”) is written on the seatstay of your bicycle. If you are not sure whether your bike is included in the recall just speak to your local Cycles UK store.

What do I need to do?

If you think your bike might be included in the recall please stop riding it. Contact your local Cycles UK store and they will be able to book you in to get the bike inspected. If you are not local to a Cycles UK store any authorised Specialized dealer will do the work free or charge.
