Introduce the rider you are today to the one you’ll be tomorrow.

Garmin have updated their cycle GPS range with two new devices, the 540 and 840. These will eventually replace the 530 and 830 devices. The 540 and 840 are designed to be easier to use, to have longer lasting batteries and to improve your overall training experience.

Multi-Band GPS and Solar Power

Both the 540 and 840 come with multi-band GPS which gives you a more reliable signal in wooded or built-up areas so your navigation doesn’t cut out. They are both also available in solar versions which supplement the standard battery. In full daylight the solar power can extend the battery life for between 6 and 18 hours depending on usage.

Suggested Workouts and Prompts

Both the 540 and 840 can provide suggested workouts and training schedules to help you build up to races or events. If you aren’t keeping up with the schedule it will prompt you to do so. You can also pair the devices with heart rate monitors and power meters for more detailed feedback on your training.

Turn by Turn Navigation

As will all Garmin devices you get turn by turn navigation. Pre-loaded maps come with cycling specific information and the can guide you towards cycling friendly routes so you can ride like a local.
