We’ve just received our first delivery of the brand new 2022 Cannondale Synapse LTD RLE bikes. Just a few weeks after Bike Radar named it their endurance bike of the year. Bike Radar do their testing in conjunction with MBUK and Cycling Plus to find the best bikes each year. They loved the Synapse RLE for the equipment it comes with, the handling, and it’s versatility. The Cannondale Synapse has been an award-winning bike for years. For 2022 it has had a big overhaul with a new frame and new equipment. It’s designed to be a bike that’s fast enough to race on but comfortable enough for all day rides. The new 2022 version has a range of design tweaks to the frame, handlebars and wheels to make it more aerodynamic. It also has changes to the bottom bracket, seat post, cabling and axles to make it easier to live with. So you get a bike that’s pro level fast, but which you don’t need a pro level mechanic on hand to fix.

What are all the letters?
One of the biggest selling points of the new Synapse is the level of equipment they come with . Most of the bikes have a combination of the letters RLE in the name which indicate the tech they have fitted:
R = Radar – these bikes come with a built in Garmin radar system to warn you about cars approaching from behind
L = Lights – built in lights (made by Lezyne) give you added daytime visibility
E = Electronic gearing – the latest Shimano Di2 systems for clean and crisp shifting
As an RLE bike the Synapse LTD comes with radar, lights and electronic gearing which is all powered off a central battery mounted within the frame. You can even use the battery to charge your phone.
Not just a road bike
The Synapse LTD RLE comes with all-road tyres and Shimano’s GRX gravel bike gearing and brakes. So it is still fast on the road but can handle some light gravel adventures as well. So, if you are looking to mix up your rides this bike is perfect.
