Bontrager Carbon Wheels. Bontrager has a long history of making world-class wheels. The story goes that back in the 1980s there were no lightweight mountain bike wheels available. So Keith Bontrager went dumpster diving at the Specialized HQ. He found some lightweight road rims, re-rolled them for mountain bikes, and tested them on the California race scene.
Bontrager has come a long way since then. They now have their own wheel production facilities using their own techniques and tooling to produce top quality mountain bikes and road wheels. Bontrager’s carbon wheels are used by the Trek professional road and mountain bike teams at the highest level.

Under the Bontrager Carbon Care Wheel Loyalty Programme, they will replace or repair your carbon wheels for free if you damage them in the first 2 years of ownership.
If you damage the wheels after the 2-year mark. Bontrager will either repair them or replace them for you at a massively discounted price. So, for instance, having Bontrager fit a new rim, and spokes to a deep section road wheel will only set you back £400. This compares to £800 to £1000 if you had to replace the wheel yourself.
Bontrager Carbon Road Bike Wheels
Bontrager’s carbon road wheels come in standard clincher and tubular versions and in rim and disc brake variants. The standard clincher wheels are all tubeless compatible (Bontrager refer to this as TLR).
Bontrager Aeolus XXX 6 Wheels - £1999.98 per pair
These are the top of the range deep-section aero wheels. They come in tubular, clincher, disc and rim brake versions. The 6 in the name refers to the rim depth of 60mm. Weighing in at just 1.45kg for the pair these wheels are light, but they are really all about the deep section profile. These wheels are designed for maximum aero performance at high speeds. They are also designed to handle real-world conditions with superior crosswind performance to keep the bike going in the direction you want it to.
Bontrager Aeolus XXX 4 Wheels - £1999.98 per pair
Like the 6 these wheels come in rim, disc, clincher and tubular versions. The 4 in the name refers to the 40mm rim depth. The slimmer rims make these wheels more stable in the wind making these wheels an ideal workhorse aero wheel for everyday use.

The Aeolus XXX 2 has a rim depth of 28mm and weighs around the 1.35kg mark. These are lightweight wheels ideal for big days in the mountains. They are also strong enough for gravel and cyclocross use. The 21mm inner rim width better supports wider tyres for added stability.
Bontrager Aeolus Pro 5 Wheels - £1199.98 per pair
The Aeolus Pro 5 wheels get you a 50mm deep section full carbon wheel at a more affordable price point. You still get a durable and aero wheel that will be a big upgrade on most bikes.
