The 2021 Orbea Vector 20 Hybrid Bike in Blue is a fast and sporty bike that is at home in the city or on open roads winding through the hills. A blend of low weight and durability usually reserved for more expensive machines, Vector is the perfect tool for doing whatever you like - whether it’s commuting or taking a few extra minutes for a detour in the park.

The Orbea Vector is built around a 6000 Aluminium frame that uses Orbea’s urban speed geometry. This is a bike designed to get you where you want to go fast. The frame uses internal cable routing for a clean and tidy look and comes with all of the mounting points you need for pannier racks or mudguards. The wide 32c tyres with reflective sidewalls are designed to be fast on the road but will also handle cycle paths.

To keep things fast the Vector 20 uses Shimano Sora road bike gearing so you can easily maintain speed. The 2 x 9 speed setup gives you 18 gears total so you can get up hills with ease. To stop you on the way back down the bike comes with powerful Shimano hydraulic disc brakes for more reliable all weather braking.

This bike is perfect for

If you want to commute to work quickly, or do fast fitness rides at the weekend, the Vector 20 gives you plenty of speed in a stable platform. With more gears and hydraulic brakes the Vector 20 has some nice upgrades over the entry level Vector 30.

Key Features

Why buy a hybrid bike?

Hybrids are the bikes that most people should have. If you want a bike for commuting, going to the shops, getting fit or just for getting around a hybrid is generally the best choice. They combine the speed of a road racing bike with the confident handling of a mountain bike to give you the best of both worlds.

Where are you going to ride?

The first point to think about when picking a hybrid is the kind of surfaces you will be riding on. There are two main flavours of hybrid bike. Some, like the Trek FX, Specialized Sirrus and Cannondale Quick are mainly intended for use on the road. They have bigger gears and skinnier tyres so that they are fast on tarmac. Other bikes like the Trek Dual Sport, Specialized Sirrus X or Cannondale Quick CX are designed to be used on a mixture of surfaces including tracks and gravel paths. They have bigger, grippier tyres and often come with easier gears and some suspension to soak up bumps.

Who are Orbea?

Orbea pronounced Or-bay-ah is named after the brothers who founded the company in 1840. Initially, the company manufactured rifles and guns. The company has been making bikes since the early 1930s and winning Tour de France stages for just as long. All Orbea Bikes are assembled at the Orbea Factory based in the heart of the Basque country in Northern Spain or in their facility in Portugal.

Orbea does things a little differently from many of the big American bike brands. As the heart of Orbea's manufacturing is still in Spain and Portugal Orbea can offer much more customised service. This includes the ability to swap out colours and parts on most of their higher-end bikes to suit individual customers through their MyO program.

Although best known for their road bikes Orbea are increasingly making a name for themselves as a mountain bike brand.
