The 2023 Whyte E-160 RSX Enduro Electric Mountain Bike in Matt Black is the top of the range E-160 bike. It has been built as the ultimate race bike by Whyte’s Senior Design Engineer Sam Shucksmith, who just happens to be the current and two-time British Enduro Series Champion. It comes with Sam’s custom tuning of the Fox shocks, custom grips and a selection of the best parts available.
Whyte have always been known for pioneering geometry and suspension. The E-160 has been engineered around the central philosophy; that a lowered centre of gravity delivers exceptional cornering agility and confident handling on any terrain. Whyte’s unique solution to mounting the motor and battery mass within the chassis gives uncompromised flow on the trails. And thanks to a huge 750Wh battery and high power 85Nm Bosch Performance Line CX motor, you're geared up for maximum enjoyment on the trails.
The E-160 RSX comes with a 160mm travel Fox Float 38 fork and a Fox Float X Performance Elite DPS rear shock. 12 speed SRAM GX AXS wireless gears, SRAM Code RSC brakes, Hope wheels and a Crank Brothers dropper post complete the build.

A couple of bike manufacturers, most notably Specialized, are making their own electric bike motors. The vast majority of bike companies are using the same motors. Electric Bike Hub Motors vs Mid-Drive Motors
Electric bikes tend to either come with a hub motor or a mid-drive motor. Mid-drive motors sit where the cranks and bottom bracket are on a bike and drive the cranks and chain around. Hub drive motors sit in the middle of the wheel and drive the wheel directly. Hub drive electric bikes are cheaper but less efficient, and less smooth, to ride.
