The 2021 Cannondale Trail Neo 3 Electric Mountain Bike in Black can handle everything from serious singletrack to city streets. With Cannondale’s progressive trail geometry, and legendary aluminium know-how, you get a light and lively frame coupled with a cleanly integrated Bosch drive unit.
Short chainstays for agility and traction, a slack head angle for solid stability, and a battery and drive unit positioned as low and centrally as possible create a surprisingly nimble, yet steady feel. So you’ll feel at home on tight and twisty singletrack. But the Trail Neo is versatile too, with pre-wired light cables and clever mounts for racks and mudguards.
The Trail Neo 3 comes with some key upgrades over the Trail Neo 4 including a higher quality frame, 10 speed Shimano Deo gearing a beefier SR Suntour XCM 34 Boost 100mm fork. It also comes with the mountain bike tuned Bosch Performance Line CX motor rathe than the standard Performance Line model.

Electric Bike Hub Motors vs Mid-Drive Motors
Electric bikes tend to either come with a hub motor or a mid-drive motor. Mid-drive motors sit where the cranks and bottom bracket are on a bike and drive the cranks and chain around. Hub drive motors sit in the middle of the wheel and drive the wheel directly. Hub drive electric bikes are cheaper but less efficient, and less smooth, to ride.
