O’Neal have been making mountain bike clothing since the 1980s. Originally a motocross company their mountain bike gear has been focused on downhill and freeride mountain bikers. However, in recent years they have begun to introduce more gear aimed at endure and trail riders, opening their clothing up to a much wider range of mountain bikers.
O’Neal sponsor British and international downhill riders, including world cup racers. If you are looking for mountain bike clothing with real heritage and technical cred then O’Neal is a great place to start.
O’Neal were one of the pioneers and innovators of Motocross clothing from the sport’s beginnings in the 1960s. Jim O’Neal was an MX rider during the birth and initial growth of the sport. Driven by a need to help his fellow riders (and himself) achieve more on bikes with equipment that was designed specifically for their needs, Jim began making his own line of clothing and protective equipment. These same ideals inspired O’Neal to enter the mountain bike market in Europe and the USA in the late 80s, first with the Azonic brand and then with the O’Neal brand itself.
O’Neal continue to work in both the motocross and mountain bike markets, adapting technologies and ideas from each sport to create high quality technical clothing and protection equipment.
